I've got a 9x2 cand c and was thinking of buying a 2metre sideboard by 60cm wide. Do you think it would hold the weight? Some of the cage will overlap as its wider but I thought given the sideboards so big it would hold the weight.
Any thoughts anyone got a similar set up?

i am putting a 4ft by 2ft wooden hamster cage on top of my sideboard and it overlaps slightly.

I have had a c&c before on top of a sideboard that overlapped quite a bit, but to make it a bit more stable i put an old table top underneath it. It worked very well.

if the measurements are right i think it would be fab, and not too bulky or anything, with the right storage it will look nice

Think as long as it is secure, will look great :))
We used four pine bookcases:

Sawed them in half placed one in front of the other then screwed them together. Bolted the whole thing to the lounge wall then drilled a 12ft piece of MDF to make the base, added levels with ramps and a roof :x
OH just made it up as he went along and the piggies ended up with a Beach Hut style home rolleyes
Loads of storage space underneath as well which is so useful for their bedding etc.

OooOOooo do you have a picture of this cage it sounds amazing :). Its for reasons like the above I really ought to make an effort trying to get a boyfriend loll. That and opening jars ad emptying bins he he
