Alicia
Adult Guinea Pig
At the moment I have 2 boars living in the shed and 3 sows and 1 boar living outside in hutches (the boar lives seperatly to the sows) I have 2 6ft runs, one of them is attached to the outdoor hutches and the other one is seperate. I don't like to leave it out in this weather with a guinea-pig in it because they don't have any shelter (even with a pigloo in there I'd still be worried about the shelter) so Billy and Barry (the 2 that live in the shed) only really go in these runs at the weekend. I know this is not enough, so normally when I get back from school I try and get them into the runs for an hour or if its light enough, 2 hours, but before they moved into the shed they were used to going in the run almost every day for up to 9 hours so it's a big change really for them. I've got some grids that I've made into a mini run for Barry, it's not very big, but I'm hoping to make it one or 2 grids bigger in a few days when I've moved some stuff in the shed around. Would it be Ok for the daytime for Barry? I was wondering whether I should give it a lid completly, or 1 or 2 grids or no lid? It is in a shed which the cat can't get in.
What do you think? (Please excuse the mess and hole in the shed - I've asked my Dad to fix the hole at the weekend)
Sorry the shed is such a dump, but I'd rather they were in there than outside.
