We're (Mike and I) getting pretty peeved when we park anywhere.

On our Doblo, there is a large sign on the back door for other motorists to leave at least 3 metres behind as there is a ramp to fold down.

Anyway, a few times now, we've been blocked in and Mike has had to move the car further down the road so I can get in. We've thought about leaving notes to those that who obviously don't care about blocking the car in.

Do you think it would be ok to do this? Ideas what to put?

Was think of printing off some and leaving them in the car when we go out.

Yes I think it would be a good idea, a polite note, informing them that they blocked you in, and the importance of taking notice of your sticker, which is blatantly displayed. I mean what would happen if there wasn't the room to move forward, you'd be waiting there till one of the other cars owners came back, which could be hours. >:(

Yes def a good idea. Something like 'cant you read you moron!'. Lol.
Maybe something like, 'thanks to your ignorent parking 'skills' i was unable to enter my vehicle. In future look at your surroundings before you park.'

;D unless you want to come back to a car with slashed tyres then i recommend using more tact! ;)

I thought that was fine. ?
Anyways, you'd put it on their windscreen when you leave. Prob never see them again.

I would agree, say something that informs them that you actually did have trouble getting in your car with your wheelchair etc, and that they should please not ignore obviously displayed signs on vehicles.

try to actually make them think, rather then just leaving a cheeky note - which wont help the situation, and just help you get your frustration out.

tbh i dont think a note would do the trick, theres always going to be some pillock who parks right up behind your car.

we have a back yard access to the house and weve tried loads of signs but people still park there and block the exit.

just boils down to who can be arsed to read and respect the signs but theres always someone who wont :(

sometimes it's even fellow blue badge users (wheelchair)!

As long as you dont damage their vehicle putting on the note i dont think there's a problem. O0 :police:

really? thats even worse then :o my mum loses her temper with the people that do it to us. its usually the same people who cant be bothered to walk an extra 10 steps to the house while visiting someone and its a big inconvinience.

unfortuntly i have no ideas for you though :-\

My friend has the same problem. She's a very attractive 30 something with a fabulous car. She also happens to have fairly advanced MS and uses a wheelchair fulltime. Whenever I go out with her it drives me mad that people think because she's young and pretty she can't be disabled. On one occasion we had an old lady angrily waving her disabled badge at us from her car as we were parking in the last disabled spot, then later on I saw the same lady merrily walking around with one stick. If my friend doesn't get to park in a disabled spot, she can't get out the car! I get so mad but she's just resigned to it. Like my dad, yes, he's registered disabled, but can actually walk so could park in another space and walk the 50 yards to the shop but he doesn't, he says he's entitled to park in a disabled spot so does even if it then means someone like my friend can't get out her car and has to go home again.

I think there should be wheelchair only parking spaces as well as disabled spaces.

Ooh now there's a good idea!

I see counless number of people who have that incurable disease 'lazyitus'. It's so common they dont even give out bluebadges for it. ::)

a lot of people are too selfish to even give some one another thought, I think a well worded polite letter informing them to next time please be aware that they stopped you using your car ramp as you are in a wheelchair and to please take care not to do so again, too many people abuse the blue badge, my dads got one but he can walk perfectly well but he had a heart valve replacement and every now and again he gets breathless, but I would say on the whole he doesn't need one,

If only.. Our car has the ramp coming down at the back, meaning we need at least one space and a half! These days the only spaces have more room at the sides! Most times we can't even get a space and go into a normal one - not that we mind - it's just the extra space we need and for me to be safe, not to come off the ramp in front of cars!

The amount of cars we see without a blue badge in a disabled parking space! Makes me angry!

Makes me mad too. My uncle also has a car where the ramp comes out the back. The amount of times we have had to move the van because an idiot has parked and blocked us in.

I actually fell out with a friend of mine who claimed it was OK to park in disabled spaces if it was raining >:(

Same here, the amount of times I've heard someone say oh a space is a space, it only has paint on it - but you can go there!

What makes me really mad is that the ignorant people who park in disabled spaces for no reason are the same people who would go absolutly ballistic if something similar was done to them. To me, it is one of the most selfish things that someone can do.

what i hate is when people park in disabled spots were they can walk perfectly fine! not only are they being plain rude and lazy, but they are making people who are diasbled life more awakrd because the spots are designed to make it easier to get out of the car with more space. but people with cars use it to stop getting there car damaged.  >:(

lmao like the comment above ^ didnt notice that :( *looks like an idiots * haha lol

Totally agree with you! :)

We have exactly the same problem here, makes me :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff:
I've totally stared down an number of people when they park there cars in a disabled area, like wtf it's not their right to do this bloody morons. Sorry but my mother in law can barely walk and she has terrible problems getting a parking spot my poor father in law quite often has to double park get her and the walker out then go off and find a parking spot :tickedoff: :tickedoff:
I wonder if this happened to their mum or friend if they'd be peed off??
Good luck with the note, i should ask other people here what they do.....

Yeah, I have a few friends that are wheelchairs users, but not electric chairs, so they don't have the same problem as me! ;)

But all agreeing that a note would be good.

If the shoe was on the other foot so to speak - they would surely be mad too!

I know it's not exactally the same but along those lines. Having had connor we now park in the parent and child spaces, well, when they're free. Is is 2 and is ok getting out of the car but you need that little bit of extra room getting him in the car and putting the straps on. I've seen people with kids about 5/6/7 years even older parking there. Yes i know it says parent and child but i dont think you really need that space now do you!
I one had a right go at a woman in a car park because she parked and got out the car. Didn't even have a kid with her. I said it was for parent and child, where's her kid? She said she didn't see any signs(even thought it was written on the space it's self and on the wall infront of the space! She ended up moving her car. Lol. There was another time where 2 women with this lazyitus parked, got out, and started walking off. I tried again, but got told they were being discriminated against because they didn't have kids! WTF!?
Unfortunatly they didn't move their car, so that space was could not be used for someone who actually needed it. If i see someone parking where they shouldn't i make sure they realise their 'error'. Even though they know full well they shouldn't be there in the first place.
