as some of you know, i had a new cage the weekend. its the one from pets at home for hundred and twenty pounds.sorry dont ask me the sizes of it I'm useless. well since ive had it, the two boys wont go up to the top level, they seem quite content to just be on the bottom level.(i dont think they want to, because they use the ladders in their outside hutch, but just dont seem bothered about it in this one) I'm going to give it till after xmas to see what they do, and try things to encourage them, cuz it seems a waste of space. but could someone please do me a favour and look the cage up on the website, and tell me whether the one level is enough space for the two of them? if so then if they dont use the top, maybe i could adopt two from a rescue to put on the top level.id love to give some needy piggies a forever home, because all of them just break my heart! gemxx

its got a grey base, and its £119. two tier. thanks.

yeah its that one, it looks small on there, but its huge! i know what you mean though, I'm not sure whether one level is enough.i think they may get used to it, I'm not sure!gemx

I have an essegi 2 tier cage and my pigs wouldn't go up the ramp so I bought some balsa wood from an art shop and glued sides on to the steeper ramp and laid fleece over it and now they tear up and down it. There is a smaller ramp up to the mezzanine which I left as it was and they hardly ever use it, they just jump up and down to the shelf so I think they're still scared of that one. Its maybe worth trying this if you decide one level isn't big enough for them.

I would say one level is definitely too small for two guineas and boys like more space than girls, maybe you need to attach something to make the ramp safer, put sides on it or a tunnel and you may need to change the flooring on the ramp as plastic can be slippy so it is more grippy/rough fleece or carpet tile

If the ramp is plastic, their feet wont be able to grip, and it will be hard, and maybe dangerous to use it as they would be skidding. You could replace it with a wooden one with grips on, or glue some carpet to this one. Carpet usually works really well. Each pair of piggies would need around 4' so this doesn't look big enough to separate. Try sorting the ramp out, your piggies will love it. x

thanks everyone, gunna sort the ladders the weekend, gotta wait for hubby to get back from working away! I'm on me own with my two lads who are two, and four!arrrrggghhh!lol gemx
