Pumpkin&Spice
New Born Pup
Hi!
I am completely new to forums and this is the first time I have ever posted a thread but I’m a little concerned about my piggie, Spice, a 7 month old Peru sow who is acting a little under the weather. I thought it’d be worth a shot to see if anyone has any advice/similar experiences.
Spice is normally really lively, cheeky piggie, who is the first to arrive waiting for her veggies or treats, always running around and bossing her cagemate, Pumpkin, around.
Now, I’m a huge worrier so I could be over reacting a little, but throughout the day Spice has been acting really lethargic, lying down at every possible chance and has just uninterested in everything. She has eaten, but only a very minimal amount - very unlike her. She’s not even willing to move at the sound of her treat bag being rustled - she’s normally up like a shot.
I also noticed her dragging her bum across the floor, which is weird as she’s not done this before. When she does it’s only for seconds at time, before walking as normal on her hind legs. She is also crying out whenever she is been stroked, even though we are barley touching her.
I think I’m going to get her checked over at the vets, but I’m just wondering if anyone else has experienced this kind of behaviour, or any advice as to what I could do to make her feel a bit better.
She’s worrying me sick!
Thank you very much!
Faith (and Pumpkin and Spice)
