Hi everyone!
So I just set my two piggies up with a new cage(went from pine shavings to fleece, so much more room for them) anywho, there are a couple of white spots in the fleece. When you touch the substance, it isn’t powdery, nor is anything in the substance. I know what piggie is doing it, I think it might be calcium deposits as I am trying to acclimate them to veggies(started with just pellets and hay, and water of course) I just want to make sure I shouldn’t be worried. Piggies both acting like normal, I see no problems, other than a couple of white spots in the fleece, just want to be positive there is nothing wrong. Thank you so much!(:

Obviously without seeing it, we can only guess.
Calcium deposits show up as dry white patches on a fleece. It is the body’s normal way of excreting excess calcium so seeing it isn’t terrible but if you do see it a lot or it does feel gritty then their diet needs changing.
Pellets and unfiltered drinking water contain high levels of calcium so ensuring pellets are kept to just one tablespoon per pig per day and that water is filtered can really help in keeping levels in check. Then ensuring high calcium veg isn’t overfed.
