Hello all,
I've built a big C&C cage for my two baby boar piggies who I just bought home yesterday. They are 8 weeks old (and v.cute!)

The cage has a small upper level which is being used as a hayloft. Neither of the piggies have ventured up the ramp yet but I'm concerned because the upper level is being supported by another grid which consequently divides part of the cage.
Anyway, last night I spotted one of the piggies going THROUGH the grids!
I have secured the outside of the cage with pieces of correx etc to prevent them from escaping but I'm worried for two reasons:
1. if they can climb high enough there's a chance they could escape..?
2. what if they get used to being able to fit through then one day they've got a little too big and they get stuck?

Would I be better off removing the supporting grid and finding another way to support the upper level?

I have had a similar problem! I had a run built out of the grids used in C&C and had my little girl Poppie in there....next thing I know she has darted out under the TV :)) caught her and put her back into C&C cage....THEN I went to feed Poppie and Lila at night and just thought Poppie was hiding like usual...I turned around and her little black body went flying across the room :)) after catching her I proceeded to build up the sides with coroplast like so and have had no issues since ;) can't wait until she gets big enough though, so I can take those down so Lila can see out too :))

hope that helps....and I am pretty sure its impossible for them to climb over all of that!

Haha I hope not!
Wow sounds like you've got a little houdini on your hands! My boys are still so frightened I doubt they'd want to escape anyway, but you never know!
I might have a re-think with the supporting grid though, they're chewing it too which worries me.

I don't think they try to escape as much as "oooh...where does this go?" after they get more curious and adventurous.
