Hi for my guinea pigs i have started putting down wood shavings on the bottom of the cage i was told this is better to have than sawdust is this correct? Its just they sometimes nibble at the woodshavings so I'm worried, thanks

Yes, that's correct, sawdust is too dusty and can be inhaled and lead to respiratory problems. I use shavings which are kiln dried and dust extracted, a little bit of nibbling won't do them any harm.

The nibbling is just like when they chew on wood for their teeth it won't cause a problem.
