We are hoping to give the boys cage a bit of a revamp in the next couple of weeks, the platform that we built them when we got the cage is starting to droop in the middle and is just generally looking a bit tired. They also currently have to do a little jump onto something and then onto the platform, and as they are getting older I feel this is less suitable so we want to build them a small ramp. I *was wondering if there is any particular type of wood I should be buying for both? I'm *not very DIY savvy! Also some advice on if people attach turrets (right word?!) to their ramps (and if so how). Thanks for any advice!

I use a cat scratching post as a ramp, its good grip and has a wood back and space at the end to drill holes and attach (:

You can get ones that are just flat pieces which is what i use the sort that go on walls or furniture for the cat they make great ramps !

Just realised you asked about the little level too, hmm i should read things more carefully ! I think ply wood is good, but i'm not sure what your using at the minuet, i have a C&C cage level that I'm planning on buying just a bit of wood the thickness of the squares in the grids to go along and help hold my level up and give it support (:
