Wood?

Hi everyone.
I'm going to be building my guinea pig an extension on top of his cage I'm using wood but I just wondered if there is a certain wood that you have to use. I can sand it down so there is no bits of wood falling of!
Any replies would be really helpful

Don't know what kind of wood but you could line it with stick on floor tiles for waterproofing

if its somewhere inside, and the piggies can chew on it, make sure its untreated and not varnished.
