hi i need to make somesort of steps so my guinea pigs can get in and out of hutch to run and i wanted to make some hides for them ,i have conifer tree logs i was going to use but i cant find out if these are not good for them ive looked on net it just says about not to use pine or cedar .can anyone help thanks

I’m not great on wood types. You have to make sure the wood you use isn’t potentially harmful to them if they chew on it (as they usually do).
For access into the hutch a longer, gentle ramp with sides is best and a non slip surface. You can make one out of gutter pipe lined with a piece of old carpet tile (or similar) for grip. There are many ideas for ramps on the forum.if I can find one with plenty of photos I will post a link for you
