Wood Preserver For Guinea Run

Hi all..Ive commissioned my dad to build the perfect outdoor run for my two young girl guineas . One of the girls refuses to use wood chews etc, preferring instead to chomp at the cage or existing run.

Any ideas what my dad should use to treat the wood to preserve it but not adversely affect guineas if they have a nibble or three? Thank you

Cuprinol garden shades and the wilkinsons own brand garden paint are usually recommended for this. If your dad is building a hutch section then it's also a good idea to line the floor with lino or self adhesive tiles.
