wood preservative for run

I'm about to get some wood for a run and wondered if i could either stain or varnish the wood? which products are safe..
i do have some
ronseal clear varnish (doesnt state if safe for animals)

and
some ronseal one coat fence stain which states that it is animal safe.

The wood should ALWAYS be untreated, even if it says its safe for animals, cavies are especially sensitive to lots of cchemicals. You must buy plain wood, as the guineas will undoubtly chew it.

When hutches and runs are sold new, they are always coated with a preservative otherwise the wood will rot quickly. As MDS said, best get it from P @ H as it is safe for the wee piggies
