My two male Guinea Pigs love their Oxbow Natural Selection pellets. They get about 1/8 a cup a day to share and the bowl is empty within thirty mins. Today I fed them in the morning and when I came back, the bowl was full of pellet dust? It was like finely ground pellets, although I didn't give them any pellet dust in the food bowl, all of the food was intact. I checked and I wasn't really mushy poops, all though there were two beans in the food bowl. I just bought a fresh bag of pellets? Is it possible that they ground them up and spit them out? The dust was dry though? Could my pigs of crushed the pellets? Should I speak to the vet?
Sorry for all the questions and thank you for your time!

If the dust had gone to the bottom of the bowl when you put the pellets in, you may not have seen it but only noticed it once they had eaten the pellets. I wouldn't be concerned about it.

That happened to me. I have a little scoop I use for the nuggets. I hadn’t realised that I had scooped up lots of dust until they had eaten the nuggets. There is always lots of dust in the bag. Were you near the end of that bag?

There’s always loads of pellet dust when you get near to the end of a bag. I tend to shake the last of the pellets in a colander to reduce the dust. But you can also keep the pellet dust for a short time as a handy replacement for critical care mix of you are ever in need of some.

I wonder if they peed in the bowl? This would have broken down the pellets and dried into a powder. It's the main reason I stopped using bowls and started scatter feeding, my pigs think bowl = toilet 🤣
