Poor girls.

Wherever you live, take care at night. And guys too. We're all vulnerable when we're out on our own, and there are too many nutters around.

I thought that guy was going for prostitutes only?

Yes but any lone woman could be mistaken for a prostitute, you don't know whether he picked them up as prostitutes or just targeted them. And what does a prostitute look like? Bit like any of us probably. I know there's plenty of girls on a night out in Nottingham dressed exactly like one, I used to before I grew up (!)

i hear there maybe 4 now :(

and to see the way some of the girls around town in nottingham dress... ugh... i know it sounds bad but thats like tempting fate

Didn't mean to criticise girls in Nottingham, it's just where I grew up so I know what it's like there on a Friday and Saturday night. What I meant was that just because you wear brief clothes on a night out or are a prostitute, we're all women so all at risk. And I personally think women should be able to wear anything they want without being a target for murderers and rapists, it's the men at fault not the women, in my opinion anyway :)

Just heard it on the 10 oclock news it is terrible

stay in two's if you are out at night thats my advise, and if you are getting a taxi make sure it is a licenced one

You never know

stay safe everyone

one of the reasons we moved to the island was for my daughters saftey as she grew up she was 13 months old when we moved , my 2nd son was 11 when he escaped a paedophile purely because i had warned him VERY STRONGLY being grafic about what they would do to him, he was on his way home from school, he still has problems being out alone now and hes 21, so dont ever think it cant happen to you, I feel much safer living here as most people know some one else who knows some one else here, if you know what I mean, having my hubby as a police officer for over 10 years certainly makes you reasses your ways, does anyone else remember the yorkshire ripper in the 80s seems to be a copycat of that does'nt it?

nooo feel free to critisise,i do a hell of a lot when I'm out,i just look at them and wonder wtf theyre wearing...sometimes I'm ashamed to be from nottingham

it seems theres 2 more girls missing now :(

I have to say I am shocked at what a lot of women wear to go out, and particularly shocked at how very young girls dress.

Yep - as you can see on the pictures i went out dressed up as a prostitute! I was delivered door to door from home to venue though as I would NEVER go round the streets dressed like that!
I lived in a really rough area of Nottingham and had the ground floor flat & I had to have iron bars put up at my windows becuase weirdo's used to knock at the bedroom window bec ause the infamous Miss P used to live at the address. You might have seen a documentry about her (a famous prostitute for those who haven't). I couldn't move for a year because I was house sitting for a year while friends went travelling. I narrowly escaped being grabbed one morning - luckily I jumped back & then a different car drove by so the person couldn't try again. I was wearing tatty old combat trousers, a denim jacket & biker boots on my way to clean the pub I worked at- hardly prostitute attire. I called the police with the number plate of the car & a brief description of the car. They were almost prompting me into what to say - they definately were on to him. Eg what colour was the car, was it a metallic colour - was very odd copper colour car. What did he look like, any distinguishing features such as a moustach - he had a goatee.... Lets hope they got him.

This isn't turning into a good advert for Nottingham is it ;D It's not that bad honestly! You can have a brill night out in the city, and I have fantastic memories but I have to say the clothes girls and boys choose to wear have got briefer and briefer but I'm more worried about them being cold than anything else. When I go back home I go out in Nottm occasionally and wear a jumper or something and they're walking around nearly naked in freezing weather bbrrrrr!

Now I'm living in rural Lancs I do feel safer and feel my son is safer at the moment, however, we now live in a narrow minded village with nothing for kids to do as they grow up so they do get drawn to drugs etc. which is a worry for the future.

From what I've read these two poor girls were prostitutes because they were addicts, and that could happen anywhere. Lets hope they catch the killer before anymore get killed. It makes me sick that someone thinks they can go out and take the life of someone else, presumable for personal satisfaction/enjoyment. Horrible >:(

it cracks me up,i sit and take the pee out of the girls and guys what they wear in the winter

but i hope to god theres no more girls killed..it makes me laugh though when the cops say " we dont think the murders are linked" wtf are they on?

Sadly the news has just said that the 2 missing girls have been found dead too, this brings it to 5. How the police can say they aren't linked is  :o  These last 2 were found in almost the same place as 1 of the others.  Let's hope he's caught asap!

It's trribly sa an I fl so for thos poor womn an thir ivst familis.

I'm not sur why som popl fl to bring th way young womn rss into th quation? Young womn hav gon out on a wkn in skimpy cloths for as long as I can rmmbr....an I'm an ol bint :)
That osn't man thy shoul b fair gam for any sicko that wants to grop, accost, rap, kill or maim. Th majority of womn who ar rap an murr bcom victims rgarlss of what thy war, I on't think rvaling cloths hav anything much to o with it?

bviously svral, not sur of th tails, of ths womn wr laing sa sprat livs that ultimatly plac thm at xtra risk.
I'm gnralising rally, but thr has always bn th ol chstnut trott out that a "woman ask for it" bcaus sh rss or bhav in a provocativ mannr. No woman srvs this rgarlss of thir lifstyl. [colorr]As I'm sur all of us hr will agr.

The police have said that it is more likely to be these women as they are more than likely to get in a strangers car.

So sad, been watching the news and the Dad of one of the girls that might have been murded has asked her to ring her mother or the police if it isnt her. Feel so much for him as he must know deep down that it is his daughter. Just hope that they get this B****d soon

On the news they keep saying about when they catch 'him'. With all this politically correct stuff nowadays I'm amazed they're allowed to say that - who says it's not a 'her'? If this was Midsomer Murders etc it would be a jealous wife whose husband had used prostitutes. Extremely unlikely I know though.

Somebody must be pretty desperate though, not even hiding the bodies very well. Poor girls and poor families, must be so awful.

thats whats got to me too, what if its a her?
the police always think they know it ,like saying he/she isnt career minded or in a proper job? wtf...and that it might be someone local to the area, what if he/she decides to move county now all the attention is on that area, they dont even think about that, this guy on GMTV this morning was an analyst or something stupid saying we have to check police records for sexual perverts etc etc etc, but what if he/she isnt even on the record ::)
I dont think they have any clue at all as to who it may be

but i do feel so sorry for the families of the girls and it cant be nice to hear it on the news that your daughter is dead let alone what her occupation is :(

I think we can say that the 2 found late this afternoon are the 2 missing women.
My heart goes out to their families , that poor dad who was interviewed tonight

lets hope they catch him/her/ them quickly before anymore lives are taken

I can't think of any female serial killers except Rose West.

I think the murderer is getting out of control, getting desperate as he is not hiding the bodies. It's attention-seeking, though I suspect now there may not be any more for a while.

I went out with my friend Andy tonight and asked him to walk me home.

All this just proves what i have always said - prostitution should be made legal, in appropriate buildings, with security guards, alarms for the girls etc. It will never go away, let's at least make is safer.

I agree

since 2002 we have a law about that in germany, it is actually legal now.
They have to pay taxes, its a normal job, etc...

I think that is the way to go really. If you want to go to a prostitute, where are you going-

the one that is registered and where its a business, or the dodgy backstreet one that has probably been brought here from some east european country and forced to do it?
I would certainly not go to the dodgy one, but to the one who looks professional, where I am sure Ill get a good job for the money and dont have to be afraid to be mugged on my way there.

Its the same like with tattoos, since there are big tatoo parlours in cities, with health and safety regulations and everything sterile, noone would go to a backstreet tatooist anymore who does it in his basement or something... just by making it official and popular, the dodgy ones die out.

prostitution has been around for thousands of years and wont ever change so it is about making it safer and legal, I know they say about what they wear but when we watch some tv programmes like a copper programme then I have to admit reluctantly some girls are wearing practically nothing showing their bits and certain men especailly when drunk mistake that as a welcome sign, if I'm honest i have never even as teen showed my bits and always dress for the weather when you see some girls with hardly anything on in winter i always think she must be freezing not shes up for it lol but having had a copper in my life for 10 years maybe i see things a little more from their view, and they have so much red tape they cannot officially say its connected until they have proof even though they know 100% it is connected. again red tape,
years ago when the yorkshire ripper was about it was generally known and thought of as they are only prostitutes but he did start killing innocent girls one a 16 year old, so just becasue its prostitutes now he might well change so everyone be very careful,

poor families, one of the girls had a 6 year old at home, imagine that job explaining where mummy is,i heard on the news that all the girls were drug addicts, so it was for drug money. To me it just seems so sad that life can be so cruel to some poor soul whos already at the brink of destruction, what a terrible thing to happen.Fingers crossed who is responsible will soon be caught without any more deaths.
