If you're worried about it not being sturdy enough then you might be better to use the round connectors, this makes it a lot more solid and sturdy, you could then use cable ties as extra support. It should hen be fine to just build the cage straight on without a table top :)

You can connect the cage walls to the stand. Looks like you've used plenty of zip ties, that should be strong enough.

Thanks for the advice i went ahead and build it connected to the base. I still need 1 more box to add a loft (my son demands we have a 2nd level) and i think i want to try a kitchen. Any advice on 2nd level? This is what it looks like so far i still need to get coroplast question do i put a small loft on 1 end and a kitchen on the other end?

I just finished building this for my 2 sows, have just moved them into it in the last half hour! 1452956330271-679592961.webp Just waiting for more correx to do the loft and ramp. The connectors are good for making it nice and sturdy, used with cable ties.

I think putting a loft above the kitchen might make cleaning the kitchen harder. Unless you make some kind of door that lets you slide out the kitchen tray. Putting on opposite ends like the one you have should be easier to clean.

Thanks I'm making a kitchen on the 2nd level I'm going to do a 2x2 loft on 1 end. Andrea what are you using to make your ramp? Nice setup.

Thank you. Going to use some correx for a ramp with maybe a piece of carpet stuck onto it for grip. Going to make the loft a feeding area, that means more space down below for excercise.
