My guinea pigs are house guinea pigs. However I’m starting to worry about the cold weather that is slowly creeping through. They live downstairs and their house (I don’t like saying cage) is impossible to bring upstairs we don’t have the room to put it anywhere as it is just so big! Downstairs can get quiet cold and of course we have heating but can anyone advise me on what else I can do to make sure they’re not cold? Thanks

@Shanj19 You can give them lots of hay to burrow in. You can use microwaveable Snugglesafes, and give them hides to sleep inside. There are also little beds that you can buy, they're like little sleeping bags. Some pigs love them, but I have a couple of pigs that sleep on top of them instead of inside.

My Finn and Lara are also indoor piggies but I still worry about them in the winter months. They stay on the main floor where central heater is always on and I keep an eye on them throughout the day.

Today, I bought 2 more cuddle toys for them. They already have plenty of stuffed animals they cuddle and sleep with but I saw 2 more toys that were super soft so I bought them.
I also ordered 3 warm beds for them to sleep on so they should arrive in no time.

These are stuffed toys I just picked up from the pet store, and they are much softer than they appear. My piggies always cuddle with their stuffed toys, and I see them sitting close by their stuffed toys to keep warm.

I will also post pictures of the beds I ordered from Amazon when they arrive.

Thanks for the reminder. Below are the new beds I received yesterday.

Below are pouches for Lara who has short hair so her pouches are keeping her warm. Lara has three pouches, monkey pouch, kitten pouch, and puppy pouch and she is currently using the puppy pouch. Lara cuddles and sleeps with all the toys both inside and outside her pouch.

Here is my boy Finn cuddling his new toy. Finn's best buddy Doggy is in this picture also. Finn's Doggy has been around since Finn was a baby.

Are the punches safe to leave them unattended with? I’d worry theyd suffocate (I’m an anxious piggy owner) x

You can buy open ended fleecy tunnels with 2 openings too, that's what my piggies have :)

Would you explain to me what do you mean by "punches"?

Everything in that picture has been around for a long time with exception of their new toys. Nothing made them suffocate. Also, my Finn and Lara have many stuffed toys for pets, which I buy from the pet store. I don't want them getting bored throughout the day so they get different toys to play with.

Do you mean pouches?

My pouches have a very big opening where they can go in and out of without any issue. Opening is close to the inside as well. I have had those pouches for over 6 months now and never had any issues with them. Lara uses her pouches daily even in the summer. Mine are indoor piggies so I always keep an eye on them.

You can also roll the pouches so the opening is even bigger than mine in the photos. Mine were just washed and rolled only slightly.
I can take more photos of the rolled pouch with bigger opening if you wish to see it.

I put a photo of the puppy pouch that missed the last photo shoot. You just have photos of their kitten pouch and monkey pouch.
As you can see in this photo, you can roll the entrance to your desired size if you are worried about suffocating.
