Gimz
Teenage Guinea Pig
Our piggies are kept in our utility room but right by our old back door which lets in a lot of draft. Not perfect for really cold weather. I therefore decided to solve several problems at once and correxed the cage sides to stop the drafts, built the piggies a new litter tray area with cortex sides to cut down on mess and also replaced their cardboard hidie home with a correx one. The whole lot is tied into place and because it's wipe down is more hygienic than cardboard.
Here is the cage before I made the changes...
And here is the new setup...
And here are my piggies enjoying all that new hay - there are three piggies in there, Treacle has buried herself underneath!
I built a few correx inserts to hold the litter trays in place next to each other and to try and cut down on piggie poos going down the gaps. I also had to cut a little hole for the water bottle:
If you look carefully you'll see Ruby chilling out in the new hidie house above...
Four very spoilt and happy piggies and they don't even have Christmas presents yet!
