Not sure if this is the right place to put this but was wondering whether having a piggy neutered would help improve aggressive behaviour in a piggy. I have an eight month old bloke pig who is lovely to humans but who has gone from adoring to cage mate to beating him up and bullying him at every opportunity. They have been seperated but thet did used to have floor time together till today when Tommy went for Sparky.

Thanks

Neutering won't change the behaviour. Tommy is going through his homornal stage if he is really bullying him and Sparky is suffering for it I would seperate and keep them next to one another. I had to do this with Sunshine and Twinkle.

Twinkle was to blame in my case but he has mellowed now he is 10 months old so I'm going to try and rebond them. Maybe just keep an eye on your two unless it is really bad but then you can always rebond when they go over the hormonal stage. :)

Good luck!

The only reason to neuter is so he can live with a sow, it wont change his behavious at all! As Louise says, its probably the hormonal stage-sometimes they work it out and sometimes not ::)

we had the same problem with bambi and thumper our dwarf bunnies 0:) 0:) 0:) we ended up getting them sexed as we were told it would help in their behaviour. but it never did :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff: even as they aged they would fight. so as far as your piggies go i would seperate them but have their cages so that they can see and smell each other and later try to rebond them again on neutral terrority. good luck with them. hugs and cuddles :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: girls send :-* :-* :-*

Thanks its been an ongoing problem for the past two months now and they have been seperated for some time I have a c and c grid seperating their cage but I like to give them floor time and as I allow them the wonder into most rooms in the flat I thought they would settle on neutral territory but ever since I seperated them six weeks ago Tommy has tormented Sparky everytime they come out together I can allow Harry and Sparky out together no problems in fact I think Harry fails to notice that Sparky is there and Sparky is delighted just to have the company of another piggy
