I’m considering buying an outdoor hutch for my piggies but they are indoor piggies, so I don’t know if they would enjoy it could someone give me some advice

You would need to acclimatise them in the spring when the weather is warmer. Start for a couple of hours a day building up until they are spending the night in there too. I don’t know if they will be happier, if they get to go out in a run on the grass in summer then they will be very happy I should think, my two certainly are at their happiest outside on grass x

Is there a reason why you want to keep them outside now?

i have piggies that live inside in autumn and winter.then go outside for spring and summer.it is much easier to place them on the grass .also i spend alot of time in the garden in the april to oct months.just ensure the outside temps are 15 degrees celsius day and night before putting outside.my piggies adjust to living outside quickly.

Mine are the same as @eileen they live outside from spring to late autum, they are now inside our cool conservatory so can still go out on the grass if it’s a nice mild day x

No there’s not really a reason but they like the grass in the summer so maybe they would like to live out there

Mine live outside all year cos I can't have them inide. You need to acclimatise them to living outside as has already been mentioned above. When you put them on the grass do so gradually as too much grass first of all is too rich for their tummies and could give them bloat. I put mine on the grass for 15 mins per day for 2 days then half a hour for 2 days, slowing increasing the time by 15 - 30 minutes every couple of days until they are on the grass all day.

We have an electric convector heater that is set to come on if the temperature drops below 11 degrees, it’s also very mild down here in Cornwall, we don’t get frosts as we are near the sea.
