I have 3 baby boy piggies together, they are brothers. They are currently 3½ months old, just lately two have started fighting, the fights are always started by Snowy, it seems that Snowy is fine with Peanut but Furry is the one who seems to be being bullied.

Furry gives as good as he gets, he never instigates a fight but certainly stands up for himself, no blood has been drawn as yet but Snowy takes great lunges at Furry once or twice a day.

If blood is drawn and I have to separate, is it ok to put Furry on his own in a different cage but right next to Snowy and Peanut?

I think that is not a bad idea until you can be sure whether Snowy and Peanut can make it together through the stroppy phase. If Furry can stay in contact, you always have the chance of reintroducing him and Peanut.

Best of luck that they can make it, though!

So which piggie should I put in the cage alone should it be troublemaker Snowy or Furry who is being bullied?

Peanut seems to be the most placid and gets on with everyone!

If Furry is fine with Peanut i'd put Snowy on his own, if not then have Furry on his own if Furry will be fine on his own.
You know your boys the best & will know which pair get on best & which one would be best with his own space :)

Usually you separate the most aggressive piggy and leave the two more placid ones together. However, if you feel that Snowy and Peanut are resonating better than Furry and Peanut, I would leave Snowy and peanut together.

There are no hard and fast rules - it all depends on the constellation of personalities!

Thanks, for the time being I have taken Furry out and placed him in his own cage.

Will they ever go back together or is that it?

Could they still go in the run together?

Sorry so many questions :{

They may go into the run together, i had 5 boars who lived separately but all would go in the run, supervised of course.

Usually once there's been a fall-out pigs won't live together again but it is dependant purely on their personalities :)

Awwwww Furry is looking through the bars for his "mates" :(

If Furry isn't happy & looks depressed or goes off his food then i'd put him back with Peanut & take Snowy out. Furry was the one you suspected was being bullied & he may benefit from having a friend whereas Snowy (the dominant boar) may be better on his own :)

Just tried that but Peanut obviously wants Snowy as he wouldn't let Furry in the pigloo. I think that Furry on his own is the best combination, will put pics on later to show you the set up I have to see what you all think and if it's ok.

Argh since separating Furry from the other 2 they all are biting the cage bars trying to get to each other. Is this normal behaviour and how long can I expect it to go on for until they accept the separation? It's like they miss all being together but if I put Furry back in the teeth chattering starts up straight away.

Help :{
