I ordered a BIG bundle of new piggy things recently and most of it arrived today! :woot:

Included are two new ferplast 120 cages. They come with the plastic shelf/house/thing you can clip in for them to hide under. Eddie has always lived in a cage without this extra house thing, and he seems to be having trouble learning that he can jump up on it (its where the plastic food bowl sits, but he has his own proper bowl as he likes to flip over the plastic ones). I've left some cucumber on a far corner it, and his bowl of nuggets is up there. Will he eventually get the idea?

Anyone got any useful tips for helping him learn? I tried putting him up on it, but once he has jumped off he seems unable to grasp the fact he can go back again. :mal:

They soon learn, I used to pop tasty herbs on there for them and they soon got hang on hopping up, I also used to hang a hammock from roof so they could climb in off the shelf :)

One of mine jumped up straight away but my other boy took a bit longer but he got there eventually! Also I love that idea rodentopia :)

One of my boys, teddy is a great little jumper infact I'm sure he has springs up his bum as I leave a log ramp fir them to get in and out of there cage and he just flys out he takes a running jump and ping he's out on the floor.

They have a cube bed that hangs up and underneath is another log curved hut that they jump on top of to get in and out of the cube bed!
Very agile they are :)

Until he learns to jump up you could you could put something there to help him until he likes the idea of being up there.

Thankyou all for the advice - I put all of his food up there and he caught on quickly after that! :D He has now suddenly changed his perception of it and likes to survey the kitchen from his new viewpoint. He's such a nosey boy!
