Soooo on Thursday I found that George had a little scratch ubove his eye, possibly from hay, or mabye even Fred (other piggie). I don't seperate them because they get along and all that. This morning I looked at how the scratch was healing, and I found it to be white. It didn't look infected, but is this normal?IMG_20201026_095820336.webp

I’m afraid your photo is too blurred to tell. You’re beat off taking him to the vet.

Hi!

How long have you had your guinea pig? the picture is far too blurred to see whether it is more likely the onset of ringworm (a highly contagious species jumping fungal skin infection) or 'boar glue' (dried semen fluid).

If the patches are getting larger, please see a vet promptly. Ringworm can be a long running nightmare if you do see a vet promptly and follow our very explicit and detailed hygiene measures. you can reclaim any vet fees from the pet shop as part of your customer rights provided you do so within the country specific time limit as you have been essentially been sold damaged ware. The time between infection and outbreak of ringworm is 10-14 days. It is one of the very few things that you can catch from your piggies (or transit to them, too, as well as to any other pets).

Hi! I've got a vet appointment for tomorrow, and I've had my guinea pigs for 5 months. I think that it's unlikely that it is ringworm, though I will ask the vet to check. Thanks :)
