Ive been hearing things here and there that when a bore is neutered they still act like they did before and do things like they did before, the only thing that changed is they cant inpregnate a sow but does he still try? People having been saying if you put a neutered boar in witha sowhe will be very happy, was just wondering is allrolleyes

I can confirm that my Llewelyn is a very dutiful hubby to his eight girls! And I can also confirm that his ability to produce vast clouds of smelly testosterone hasn't suffered, either!

Neutering guinea pig males won't change their behaviour or instincts at all. It doesn't work if you are planning to calm down two hormonal boars - sorry!

No noth my boars are lined up to go with sows soon was just curious is all :red

You will still get all the shenanigans that come with normal piggy life indeed - just no babies! Introductions and first few seasons can be pretty lively and are certainly vocal!

Please be aware that boars need to wait 4-6 weeks after the operation before they can join the sows. You are about 95% safe at four weeks and 100% safe at six weeks; the odd "golden shot" has been known to have been fired at 5 weeks after the op.

It won't stop the rumble-mating-dancing.

In fact, Boris is becoming VERY well practiced in it these days :)) rolleyes
