Hello everyone! I was just wondering if it's normal that my little piggy is so much frightened sometimes..He jumps up in any sound he hears and he even wakes up very easily when he hears something..I've only had him for 3 weeks but he is really used to me and I can pick him up and handle him very easily. What do you think? Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the forum
This is very normal as naturally gps are a prey animal so noise may indicate predators! It will take him a while to get used to noises and the different sounds your home has. Had my guineas since april and they have only been coming to the bars and greeting me for a month. Getting him a friend could help along with daily handling he will eventually realise you mean no harm and get used to noise mine are now used to the noise of my 3 year old who runs around making the noise of a baby elephant!

Oh this is interesting because my Beaver our latest is so scared
she'll be ok when I handle her but is very fidgety otherwise

my boys will take food from my hands but run a mile when i go to pick them up and when i do finally manage to get them they squirm loads and if i have one and my OH has the other they call for each other. Could i be doing something wrong or is it a case of perservering with them?

Mine call for each other still i just think its natural. I think younger gps sauirm when being cuddled becuse all they wanna do is run around my youngests ones still do ith the older ones will lie still and sometimes sleep they get better with age my oldest ones are about 9 months!

Thats good to know thanks! i will keep doing what i am doing and hope that with time they will learn to chill out!
