Everything happens at once doesn’t it?
So I had an appointment booked with the exotic vet tomorrow for Henry, To take a look at his lumps under his armpits.
Typically in true Maude style, Henry’s Wife Maude gave herself haypoke on Saturday night (AGAIN!). Was completely cloudy, I have antibiotic eye jel that I am applying. It’s healing okay. But should probably get that eye checked out as surely she must be losing vision in it by now with the amount of hay pokes she’s had.
But then last night Newtons breathing sounded terrible! His chest sounded awful and I could hear it from ages away. But happily popcorning and eating etc. i immediately started him on baytril and Metacam and thought I will take him to the vet with Henry on Tuesday.
But this morning I can no longer hear any bad breathing.. BUT His undercarriage is all wet and smelly?! However I’m wondering if that from the new fleece I put in the cage last night and perhaps it’s not absorbent yet and his long hair has soaked up the wee instead?
I phoned the vet. There is only time to see ONE pig tommorow. I said I will bring Maude along with Henry as they can share a carrier and IF the vet has time he can quickly look at her eye that’s great, but if not..I understand. (Only exotic vet in the area- SUPER Busy always)
They have managed to squeeze me another appointment on Friday evening thankfully.
But my question is who should I prioritise for tomorrow’s appointment?
Henry- Lumps noticed 2 weeks ago.
Maude- Eye always looks dodgy. But the haypoke is fresh yet healing from what I can tell.
Newton- Acting and eating fine but very strange loud chesty noises last night. Plus wet undercarriage today. Poops look good.
Aghhh?!?
