Who is ready for winter?

I've got fleecy guinea pig blankets from Asda that I can use in the living room. I have my fluffy slippers, I even have a fleecy pyjamas. Hubby keeps the house around 20C anyway so it's not really cold inside. But I still feel cold at times. Must be my age according to hubby! 😂:fog::box:

We're off to LA-Las Vegas on 12-23 Nov so that will be a nice break from the cold at least. 👍😁

Oh and I've booked a holiday to Cape Verde and I go in 29 days, 16 hours, 3 mins and 2 seconds not that I'm counting!
We were going to do Cape Verde! In the end my fear of not being in easy access of medical help incase something happens to the kids won over (plus 6.5 hour flight with a 4 month old and a 3 year old!). I insisted to hubby that I was not spending my somewhat special birthday in cold, wet, miserable and dark England

Can't recommend a sofa duvet highly enough; we have a single we keep by the sofa and it makes everything feel cosier and toasty warm. Cuddling up on the sofa with a cup of tea is just better when you're under a duvet.

I've also got a few blanket ponchos which I love because I don't have to choose between getting up and keeping my blanket on :)) Well, without the blanket getting in the way and/or falling off when I try to do anything, at least.

I've dug out my fluffy slippers and thick wool coat. Asda fleece blankets are on the back of the sofa at the ready. Thermal PJs are on standby along with my thick socks.
I'm hoping the house will be warmer and less draughty now we have new windows and door. There's already a definite improvement with the back door. I've not had to mop up puddles of water on the kitchen floor when it rains heavily!

This is a dangerous game for me, I end up falling asleep on the sofa if a Duvet is present! 😂

After years of waiting I have now had my horrible 50+ year old single glazed timber windows replaced with lovely double glazing so I'm looking forward to a lot less draughts this winter. I've only had them for just over a week but I'm noticing the difference already

Mine are indoor piggies but they still love their cardboard boxes and paper bags in the winter. My neighbours are keeping their boxes for me.
Yesterday the piece of corex went over the opening in the fire place (we don't use the fire!). We get a draft down the chimney when it's windy.
It's starting to feel like winter now.

I am planning to dig out my heated throw this weekend. Definitely feels chilly if you sit down for any length of time.

I've actually had to start wearing a hoodie every time I leave the house. Also RIP my heating bill (even aside from Eon being plonkers) because the goblins will not move from their beds that are about an inch away from the radiator. Must have heat. 🤷‍♂️

Thanks heavens the bills should be slightly lower this year. Last year was a killer!
