Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone can help me. I have researched this and lots of places are saying it’s normal and it’s a way of cleaning the eye, but does anyone know what this white stuff actually is? Should I be concerned?

I noticed it about a day ago and I wiped his eye gently with lukewarm water. I noticed today that under his eye was a little crusty so I cleaned it again as this white stuff has come back. I checked his eye and could not see any redness, inflammation or anything of concern and I definitely know it’s not a hay poke. His other eye is completely fine. He’s eating, drinking and is his normal self. I’ve checked him other and could not see any issues of concern.

Ive never seen this before in any of the girls and this is the first time I’ve seen him with it x

I always work on the basis that if I’m concerned I go the vet.
I would rather be told there’s nothing wrong than miss a possible issue.

Sorry I can’t comment about your piggy’s eye but he is gorgeous

I know he’s adorable! He seems perfectly fine and could not detect any URI symptoms so I’m just a little confused. The crusty stuff is just where the milky water has been.

I think ill keep an eye on him and possibly call them tomorrow or Thursday.

Thanks for your help though

Thankfully he’s fine! I took him to the vets yesterday and she couldn’t see any issues at all and just said it’s a normal way of cleaning the eye.

I was just concerned because he’s never done it before and it happened since Monday but no he’s fine. She said if he stops acting like his normal self then bring him back x
