Hi All,

I wonder if you can help. I'm quite worried.

This is the second time in three days that I have found some white... fluid?... on the heat pads that my guinea pigs sit on. They are both females. Is it a calcium deposit? Or should I be concerned? The only smell is of urine.

Thanks,
Amy

One girl 3 years old, been with me for two years. The other girl is younger but age uncertain. She came from a rescue and I've had her for two weeks. No other symptoms.

Ugh. So stressed. I'm on my way to the hospital because a family member is really ill, and this happened just before I left.

Hi

Sorry about your stress.

Does it feel powdery, gritty or jelly/dried jelly like?
If it feels powdery, then that is the normal way of the body to excrete excess calcium in the pees.

It felt powdery, almost chalky 😃 Thanks so much. One problem solved for the day!
