One of my boars has always "whinged" ever since he was a baby. When we brought him home at 6 weeks old he squeaked and muttered to himself constantly. It was so cute x) but we thought he'd grow out of it.

However, even as an adult he's just the same! If I put a couple of carrots in the cage he'll squeak and mutter as he's eating, especially if his mate goes near the carrot! And if I hold him, anyone would think I was murdering him with all the squeaking and complaining that goes on! He actually sounds like a puppy crying.

It's so cute but I'd like some reasurance that he is actually happy? despite the moaning?

You just ruined my day LOL! My baby Teddy whines all the time and I was sure he would grow out of it. Now I don't know anymore. Here is a video of him crying ;D

I think you'll find this is normal piggie chat! Piggies are very vocal little creatures, mine love to wheek loudly the second I enter the room on the off chance there might be some veggies going! They usually mutter and wheek all the time pretty much and the squeeking when others come near their food is what mine do a sort of paws off this is mine noise!
Piggies have a wide range of noises and I'm sure that if you have a cruise around the forum you will see lots of posts about chattering etc on the behaviour threads.

DarkStar I think Teddy is just sooo cute, look at his little lips move!
