Does anybody else have a piggy who makes noises that don't match their body language? When I have her in my lap she will make this strange whiney noise, like she's cross but then stretches out, puts her chin down, licks me and stretches out! I actually think she does it for a peaflake as it stops when she gets one! Can they really be that devious? I must add she's a very happy healthy pig with a beyond healthy appetite! She's never been one for sharing her space with another pig but lives side by side with others which she tolerates with occasional chattering at them! She's such a funny little thing!
Thanks!

For reference, this is the body language that goes with the whiney noise! Stops as soon as I open the peaflakes, starts again as soon as I put the lid back on!

The whiney noise means "I am not altogether comfortable with this situation but I am not a threat." The louder and more intensely they make it the less happy they are. Many piggies will do it quietly when being stroked but louder when other pigs are trying to take food off them, or if they are being harassed by a boar. The situation when they do it the loudest is if nearby pigs are teeth chattering and squaring up, such as during herd bonding.

It sounds like your piggy enjoys your company but is a little bit irritated at the same time ..... but nothing a peaflake can't put right lol

This makes a lot of sense! She is the most irritable little thing with very strong opinions but I can tell sometimes she just won't allow herself to enjoy the cuddle! It makes me love her even more that she's so feisty though 😂
