Morning everyone,

I am just about to leave to go to uni, so I wont be able to check this for a few hours - but thought I'd ask now with the hope of someone getting back to me!

One of my piggies lives in my bedroom, and I've noticed he is sighing, almost whimpering through the night. He is eating well, eyes and nose are clear, gets plenty of exercise, I just dont know why he is doing this? It sounds like he is really sad :(

He does have a 'friend' that he normally lives side by side with so they can chat/fight through the divide but his mate is still on medication for pneumonia so the vet asked me to keep them apart. They can still hear each other though when out playing....

Any thoughts?

Patrick whimpers during the night is always worse he does it when he urinates as he has chronic bladder problems, he still eats and acts piggy like. I would observe him urinating and passing pellets as he may have bladder problems and the noise you are hearing is perhaps pain especially if it's a new behaviour.

It is a very very quiet sound, almost like a whispered sigh. So strange. Thank you for the advice. I will keep an eye on him and try and get to the bottom of this! Does anyone have any other ideas what it could be, just in case all is well with him going to the toilet? x

My first thought is could he be pining for his friend? They do get very lonely. How much longer need they be apart? If its still a while i would chat with your vet about when they can get back together, and explain how unhappy he is.
