please vote on which guinea pig nuggets you/ your guinea pigs think are the best as i'm considering switching to something different as it becoming far too costly and my piggies don't even seem to keen on it ....
please consider the cost, how healthy they are, and how much your piggies like them
if you've got anything else to add please feel free to comment especially if you chose 'other'
thanks for voting!

I started with a PaH fruity nugget, but I didn't like the idea of them. Picked up the Tesco ones when I was shopping, and they love them. I checked, and they rate fairly highly for nutrition and cost, so I've just stuck with them.

I had to switch recently as I was nearly out of Burgess Excel and my local shop had also run out but they had Harrington's Optimum Guinea Pig on offer so I got a bag. I haven't looked at the chart to see if it's a good one or not and I'm not sure yet if I will go back to Burgess but the pigs like this one just as much and one thing I do prefer is the nuggets are much smaller which is easier for the babies.

I'm located in the US, and we use KMS Hayloft Timothy choice pellets. Seriously, my guinea pigs scream the longest and loudest for these pellets over anything else we provide them! I think the pellets smell delicious and fresh as well! Just amazingly high quality.

@PiggieNinja Which nuggets do you feed now? If you find your current ones too costly then we can try to suggest some that are cheaper :)

Oh, although my boys adore Science Selective I try to warn people off them as they got stuck on one of my boys teeth.

I use oxbow young guinea pig essentials..

I feed oxbow too, its just tht its rather pricey but I'm not sure if thrs any other closest replacement to its great nutrient and ingredients? Maybe someone else know a cheaper version of it as i dont know.

Ok thanks!- I'd never really heard that tesco did any til recently so I'll definatly check them out...

Well currently I feed Harringtons in the morning and rosewood meadow menu in the evening. They adore the Harringtons but it puts me off because they swell in water and I can't imagine that's great for them. But the meadow menu is really healthy but way too expensive really , plus they're really not keen.
Then my new piggie (hooray!) Has come with a bag of burgess excel and it smells really good and my others also seem to love it , plus it's much cheaper than the rosewpod one ( plus the advertising caught me when it said 90% -or something- vets recomend burgess) So I'm thinking of changing to that but I thought Id get a wider opinion :)

My piggies' favourite is JR farm grainless. It's very very similar to the Rosewood Meadow Menu stuff (which they also get, along with VL), but smells (and presumably tastes) slightly different.

My pigs love the Asda nuggets, I always get empty bowls. Plus they're only £2 for a 2kg bag. ;)

I swapped ours over from Harringtons to the Rosewood Natures Menu and they have absolutely loved it, not a single piece gets wasted and I love the ingredients in it and that its not full of grain fillers.

My piggies love oxbow pellets, they are timothy hay based.

I love the Rosewood meadow menu pellets.
I made a video all about pellets for guinea pigs
I have a YouTube channel about guinea pig, rabbit, dogs and hamsters.

My girls started off with science selective but switched them onto natures feast and they adore it :luv:. They can tell when I've got a fresh bag and wheek even loader to tell me to hurry up with them! as if I would stop them from eating it

Mine started on Pets at Home nuggets but I thought it was :vom: so I changed to Harringtons which they love! I tried muesli in between the P@H muck and the Harringtons as my Rainbow Piggies Lenny and Gizmo preferred muesli to pellets but the muesli with my lot at the mo was not a hit.

My herd is currently on Burgess mint with oregano and Science selective grainless (still not happy with the ingredients, but it's only a 1.5kg bag mixed in with a 10kg bag of Burgess).

I am moving them over to JR Farm grainless as soon as the current mix of nuggets is finished. I think I will miss in other grainless nuggets except the Science Selective one.

I usually feed my boys on a mix of Burgess Mint and Harringtons...tjey love the Burgess, they get weird about the Harringtons. They'll eat them no problem, but sometimes they're happier to eat them than others.

Before I went to the south of England for a few weeks I was trying to get everything ready for them and my brain wasn't really functioning at 100%, so instead of taking a carton of their own nuggets down in a resealable tub, for some reason I decided instead to buy a bag of the Tesco nuggets because they wouldn't be open beforehand. I realised when I arrived what I'd done but apparently the Tesco nuggets were an absolute hit. At least it worked out in my favour...

I ended up switching to Harringtons as they had it on offer at my local pet shop. I got 3 bags and I'm just started on the last bag so need to decide if I will stick with it or switch to something else. They love the Harringtons.

So do mine @Eilleen's Mum. I buy it in 10kg sacks. The cheapest place atm is Jollyes as they have it on special offer. Not sure how long it's on for though.

Oh dear! I've just started giving them some as well. As the Excel as bwanted to try brainless!

Thanks for everyone's replireplies they've been really helpful - I'm now going half and half Harringtons and Burgess mint so satisfy both my piggies and my purse haha

It only ever happened to one of my boys, he must have had thinner teeth or something.

Just keep an eye on them but fingers crossed they don't have the same issue.

I did start snapping all of the pieces in half but I have issues with my hands and it was quite hard to do, so I had to swap them to another pellet.

They're very small so would take you forever trying to halve them! Better to change!
