I am looking for a hutch big enough for 3 guinea-pigs, and I already have 4 hutches all with guinea-pigs in them, and my Dad was going to add bits to one of them to make it bigger to house my 3 sows, but my Mum has now said we can't do that and that we should just swap them with another one of the hutches. I don't even know if these hutches are big enough but my Mum is not going to let me add bits to the hutches.
So which would be better to house my 3 sows:

I have another hutch but its the same as hutch 3. I need to put the sows in the biggest hutch because all the other hutches have just 1 boar in each one, so they can go in a slightly smaller hutch because there's just one of them so the sows should have the bigger hutch.
Please excuse all the mess in the hutches, they get cleaned out on Sundays.

Not sure that the photos give accurate sizes so it's a bit difficult to see. They all look small to me. Thing is, in good weather when the added runs are extra space, it may not be too bad, but if it's wet or windy, they will all be cooped up together in the small housy bit. Nothing looks about 5' which is what you would need for 3. But it may just be the way they look on the photo? xx

I have to agree with nutmeg that when the weather isn't so good, your piggies will be cooped up in the hutch area which may be a little small for 3. For now, I would go for hutch 2 BUT i really do not think that would be big enough for 3 in the long term xx

Ok thank you. I don't think its really big enough anyway but Hutch 1 is quite broken up so I'll probably have to replace that soon, so when that comes I'll buy a bigger hutch. I've managed to add a makeshift play area bit onto the front of Hutch 1 for them out of some wooden panels, so they've got a little extra room for the time being.

Keep a look out on ebay and preloved, you might find a bargain if you're lucky. Sounds like you've got a plan. I'm sure you can make do for a little while. x
