I know its meant to be held in my left hand but i've never been able to eat like that so its always fork in my right hand and knife in my left. I have had people comment before that its bad table manners to eat the way i do.

When i was in a primary school lunch room i noticed most children eat how i do so is it a childs way to eat that your meant to grow out of?

Also if someone was eating this way would you see it as bad table manners?

I am right handed but i also use my fork in right and knife in left, i can't cut using my knife with my right hand? I always get told off for it too.

I was actually supposed to be left handed, but when i started school i was made to use my right hand, but before school, i always did everything with my left hand, and even now i can write with both hands and my strongest hand is my left.

If I'm using a knife and fork, it's knife in the right, fork in the left.

If I'm just using a fork or a spoon or chopsticks or whatever, then it's right handed for me.

I use my knife in my left hand and my fork in my right!

I cannot write with my left though!

Thats good glad i'm not the only one. I write with my right hand too.

I use my fork in my right hand and my knife in my left. I cant use my fork in my left hand i end up dropping food everywhere :))

It's the same for me Amanda :) My OH eats the opposite way and it confuses me...especially when I have to lay the table up with opposite cutlery settings!

I use mine the opposite way round too. Although I think that's due to my arms being wonky so I wouldn't be able to get the food in my mouth if I used my fork in the left hand :{

Fork in my right hand. I was always being told off for holding it in the "wrong hand" but I just can't do it the other way around, it's like trying to write with your opposite hand.

ahh thank god I'm not the only one lol, I've never been able to hold my knife in the right hand! :p

I am right handed but can write with my left quite easily

I use fork in right, knife in left :-) I'm the wrong way around and it confuses everyone ... especially at events with like 10 differnt bits of cuttlery ..

Me and my sister are exactly the same, we only ever all sit round the dinning table for christmas and new years and we usually are seated next to one another and we both pick up our knife and fork and switch them :))

I'd only ever make an effort if I was going somewhere "posh" and then i'd probably end up with it all down my front.

Apparently you are supposed to use your strong hand (writing hand) to cut with and weaker hand to stick it in your mouth.
People would always try to 'correct' left handed people too. My auntie in law forces her left handed daughter to use her right hand for everything

I never noticed anything awkward about swapping the knifes and forks around in my hand before I eat...

eeeeek this is the argument my OH has with me all the time!
He is left handed so says i eat incorrectly for a right hander ! rolleyes

Fork in left hand, knife in right hand ! :))

Same here Glynis!

I hold the fork in my right hand and I am right handed - hubby always has a go at me for using the wrong hands. It has caused so many arguments that we no longer sit at the table for meals lol!
