Which cardboard boxes are safe?

I've started giving the piggies cardboard boxes stuffed with hay. They love them!

I've been using amazon boxes as I've seen other ppl on here use them loads so assume they're safe. But I've ran out.

How do we know which cardboard boxes are and aren't safe? My piggies defo eat them!

Most plain brown cardboard is fine,eg kitchen/toilet rolls inners,just cut down the centre of the cardboard roll to prevent any piggie getting stuck.just remove staples,celletape,from cardboard boxes.print is usually safe as is non toxic ink.Cardboard boxes are loved by all guinea pigs especially with hay added.equates to fun,fun,fun.!

It is the print on card I'm worried about.

I'm guessing shiny card like cereal boxes is a no? My partner works in a food shop so we have access to all kinds of boxes.

My work gets reems of paper in boxes that are dull card but white on the outside with words printed on. They're perfect piggie bed size but I worry about the amount of chemicals with the whole outside of the box being white.

What a shame having to buy and drink all that wine for piggie beds! The things we do for our pets!
