I have little experience of indoor cages, and so am a bit stuck which to get :{

It is to house Noodles and the new friend we hope to find for her...we started looking before Whiskey went to the bridge but sadly events overtook us :(

So, we have narrowed it down to a Nero 4, Skyline xxl or Ferplast 120. The skyline is cheapest but I'm not keen on what looks like quite a small door on the front.

In terms of access for cleaning and cuddles, I really like the ferplast and the way the whole front opens. Noodles and ? will be allowed free range time while we are here as her and whiskey used to, and I'm already thinking how would create abcess in and out easily with the ferplast (noodles won't pee anywhere but her cage so creating easy access would be ideal)

So can I have some user opinions please. And before it is suggested, sadly we can't do a c & c as we need to be able to move the cage to mums in case our landlord visits!

Thanks all :)

ps apologies for any funny spelling, I'm on my phone!

I felt the same about the skyline so I bought the ferplast 120 from zooplus as this was cheapest but i was glad I got it because as with all ferplasts the front completely opens up which means you can get right in.
The ferplast because of the size has the front split into 2 doors and both open back. I have a c & c now but felt the ferplast was the best cage.
I took out the plastic hidey though to make more space as they never went up top either. :)

LOL I did wonder why you wanted to create an abcess :(|)

Ferplast cages are great, love the acess they have and they are very well made. Only thing I dislike is the latticed pattern on the bottom of the base, muck and stuff gets stuck in it, but a good go with the Hoover occasionally helps x

Oh and I used to create a ramp out of fiddlestix in and out of my Ferplast worked well

I would in any case go for a cage that opens all up from the front and not the top - it is less stressful for piggies if you do not loom over them or grab them from above.
The lattice on the bottom is a pain, though, but it also comes with the Skyline Maxi!

Having both here I would go for the Ferplast every time. The Skyline xxl is a brilliant value for money cage but for ease of interacting with your piggies and cleaning out the Ferplast wins every time.:):)

I would agree with everyone else - although the skyline is a good value cage it is somewhat tricky to catch piggies and can be a pain when doing daily spot cleans and full clean outs.

Two of my girls live in a Ferplast 140 (and ive also had the Ferplast 120's in the past) and i love it - the large front opening is perfect for cleaning - i haven't found too many problems with the flooring of the Ferplast as i use fleece/vetbed.

Ive never had a Nero cage so cannot comment on the quality/build :)

I think I own a skyline and I much prefer my Ferplast for getting into.

But then the space the skyline wins it for me, plus they are cheaper. I had orginally joined the two together but then Hector appeared lol.

I think my 120 is an old model Ferplast as it has the hatched bottom too, although I lined it with newspaper, cleaning it wasn't a problem anyway, just wiping & drying it was a pain rolleyes

I never used the opening to clean it anyway, I always took the whole cage bit off the top?

Err just to throw a spanner in the works - we have one ferplast and another (don't know make).
We hate the ferplast compared to the other, its cross hatching on the base makes it a nightmare to clean, the front opening feels flimsy, i find it difficult to fill up the hay manger. Really dont like the front opening, much prefer our top opening older cage.

Unfortunatly just don't know what type the older cage is so can't advise on it. Sorry for the negative post but this is our experience.

I actually prefer the criss cross effect to the bottom, it stops the bedding flying out when they do their crazy laps, I did have a smooth bottomed nero 4 and found when they did their crazy thing they skidded all over and the bedding (finacard and hay) flicked up and all over and out.

I dont find it bad to clean out, dustpan and brush does the trick and a swill out with soapy water. also if it gets that white pee crustyness a soak in vinegar over night brings it out a treat.

I love my ferp 120

I did also have one of them skyline xxl jobbies but sent it back because the paint was peeling on arrival from zooplus.
