Hello all,

I have tried many different beddings but still havn't found one that i'm 100% happy with for my guinea pigs. I'm currently using half easibed and half shredded paper - but i've just been told easibed isn't safe as it's kiln dried pine.

After much of research i'd quite like to try ecobed or fitch bedding. I'm in Cheshire and havn't a clue where to get either from? Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you!

Fitch have a website which you can find if you google fitch recycling. I'd highly recommend it! :)

I'm not paying their online prices, they're only around £6-7 per bale if you buy locally!

As far as I'm aware they're a fairly small company so just have the one depot for collections. I can't remember where it is other than too far for me to drive for it to be cost effective! Alas I have to pay the online price which has just been raised! I do love it though and don't want to switch. I guess it's only an extra £1 a month for me.

Fitch are in stalybridge, so depending on where you are in Cheshire it may not be that far to collect. I'm just on the border between Cheshire and Manko and it takes me around twenty minutes to get there. What I spend in petrol is offset by the savings I make than if I were to buy other types of bedding. I just pick up three or four bales at a time and store them in my garage.
