Hi, as above really.

One of my girls has ringworm and has been on treatment for a week so far, and I think its improving. Luckily it seems her friend has not caught it too.......phew

Was just wondering though, when does it stop being contagious? Does her face have to be totally healed, and hair grown back for it to be all ok, or is their still a time limit after to be cautious? :{

I think someone on here the other day said it is no longer contagious when the scabbing has gone and the hair is starting to grow back :) Although don't quote me on that (wish i could remember the thread it was posted on) :{

animals can incubate ringworm for 1mth before showing signs of it, it is not contagous once the scabs have gone and hair is re-growing, BUT if they are in a hutch then ringworm spores will live in the hutch for yrs so its always best to flame the inside of the hutch and re-paint it.

I would still keep a close eye on your other guinea pig, because if she isnt showing signs of it now in 3-4 wks she may do.

I would advise bathing your other one in nizoral for humans every week for 3 wks x
