So I have two boars about 6-8 months old and I wanted to know when should I start cleaning their pocket and peen. I saw some videos on the how, but I didn't get a good idea on the when. I know you should check at least once a month, or once every two months, but I don't know the rest.

Most boars take care of themselves in that area, you shouldn’t need to do much other than check them over at each weekly health check. Some piggies can get bedding caught in their anal sac so you may just need to check and remove anything like bedding and hay, and it’s normally only older boars who have lost muscle who have problems with impaction.

How often should I clean guinea pig'a genitalia? There is no need to clean the genitalia every day. I would say that once a month a throughout cleaning should take place. Nevertheless, you need to conduct weekly checks down there to keep it clean.
From what I've read.😊 I would check to make sure

Ah so I only have to check if I see anything and its really the older ones that have trouble? I admit all the videos I've seen make it seem like you really need to get into the pocket but also did not make to much mention on age so that may be it. Thanks for the advice I was worried on how I was going to do this its nice to know it won't be as bad as the vids make it seem

Yes. I’ve never had to do much for my two boars. The odd bit of hay etc but that’s all.
as some piggies age their muscles go a bit loose and it can mean they struggle a bit more but this doesn’t affect all of them by any means

Yes I would agree, if they are young leave well alone unless they seem in any discomfort or have some hay or fur obviously stuck in there. If you think it needs attention or any stuck hay or fur wont come out easily, best to book in with a vet nurse to show you what to clean and how for the first couple of times if needed- but this shouldnt need doing regularly for youngsters.
