I was chilly last night and I hope the girls were snuggled in the straw nice and warm.

When do you start putting the snuggle heat pads in the hutches? I would start from tonight but I don't want them to not be warm enough in December /January if they get used to the warmth now.

It's like the old saying "you won't feel the benefit if you keep your coat on inside!"

I started a few weeks ago when nighttime temperature dropped below 10c

i started last night too, just to take edge off it.
the hutch is covered by a tarp at nights and dad has managed to make a bracket that i can roll up and drape the tarp over to create a canopy when it rains.
When the weather starts being cold through the day i will be stapling clear plastic thick bags to the mesh parts of cage with holes for ventilation

The RSPCA recommends 15 degrees, but I've read a few sites saying 10 degrees in okay.

I don't let the temperature indoors get lower than 15 in the pigs room. I have to wear any extra jumper, they get the heat.

When I had outdoor pigs I had a max/min thermometer so I could see when it was getting colder over night, so I could get out their Snugglesafes.
