When do they start to show their age?

Basically just as the title says, when do you think guinea piggies start to show their age more? When would you consider them 'older'?

I really can't say but I lost my previous piggy aged 7 & she wasn't showing any signs of aging, she still ate the same amount etc, but she did sleep a bit more, & a deeper sleep.

my two girls are 4 1/2 now and i'd say are starting to show their age slightly. not so much with their looks, but they have a bit of a slower pace to life, and definitely enjoy their naps a lot more than they used to x

I'd say between 4 and 5 too. Can't be exactly sure how old my older piggies are but they're somewhere around 4 or 5-ish and they do tend to sleep a lot more than my 4 month old boar and lead a slightly more sedate life.

I knew my 7 year old was declining last year because of signs of aging. I noticed her being less energetic from about 5 1/2 and by the time she was almost 7 she was less inclined to greet me if I went in the room and preferred to sleep (unless of course food was involved!).

I think mainly they start to take life at a more leisurely pace and prefer to sleep longer and more often. But you can never truely know when a piggie is ready to leave

I'd go for 4/5 too. Misty is now over 5 and has a much slower pace of life - although she can still have a mad 5 minutes and race laps whilst popcorning!

Neither of mine are 'old'- one is almost three, and the other is about 18 months. However, I can see the age difference between the two of them- the 18 month pig still runs laps for fun, while 'big sister' tends to stare at her as if she wants to know why she's being so crazy! The three year old one still runs and popcorns and is in good health, but she doesn't have that crazy mentality that the younger one does anymore!

my rex pig is about 8 years old now, if you compare him to the pigs ive adopted and the 2 I'm looking after for my cousin while she is on holiday he looks really old.
