When cold weather comes.....

Hello,
Just thinking about my girls when the cold weather comes,
They live in a bedroom in the attic,
They have igloos a cosy and a little guinea pig bed do I need to do anything diffrent to keep them warm in winter?
Do I add hay into the igloo?
They live on fleece x

Hay on fleece isn't always a good mix as it really sticks and is a pain to get off,

Have you thought of buying maybe a cosy sack or two ? or maybe a nice plush bed.

Also you can get 'snuggle safe heat pads' that are microwavable and safe for small animals, they are good for keeping pigs warm and cosy !

They have cosy's but I'm going to get more so they always have one when it's washing time xx

It's always good idea to have spares, my pigs get grumpy when they're cosies go in the wash and they have none in there cage |)

Maybe you could consider making/buying some cavy safe heating pads? I have made a few rice pads which I heat in the microwave for 45 secs and place in his area. He doesn't chew the ones i've made to get to the rice, so I think their safe! You could also make/buy some snuggle tunnels and place a few random sheets of fleece in the cage for them to snuggle or dig under.
