Hello! I recently got two new guinea pigs, and they are long haired. I’ve had them for almost a week and think it’s really due time for brushing them. But I do not know if I should wait some more until I start handling them?
thanks

We advise to leave them to settle in for the first week and then start offering food from your hand from them on. However, some health processes need to be done. You need to take it at their pace but starting little and often is a good idea. They may not tolerate being fully groomed in one go - it may take you several days and attempts to get a whole piggy done! I’d just let them smell the brush first off

Also start their weight checks weekly if you do manage to pick them up.
