At times one of my guinea pigs seems to wheeze or sneeze at times. It usually only lasts around a day before she's completely fine, and they don't seem to be affecting her at all. I know guinea pigs are more at risk for respiratory ilnesses, but it does not seem to be one because the other pig is always fine. Is the wheezing concerning?

I have moved your thread to the health section.

Piggies have narrow airways and things such as hay dust or dry air can mean their breathing becomes more audible temporarily. However as a respiratory infection (either untreated or under-treated) is a serious issue, is always advisable to have a vet check to ensure all is well.
Putting a bowl of steaming water next to the cage can sometimes help give some relief and ease breathing.
Keep up with her routine weight checks to ensure she is still eating plenty of hay

Hi

Wheezing can be due to sensitivity but it can also come from a low level bacterial respiratory illness. It is not necessarily easy to work it out.

If it is ongoing and not tied to a specific batch of hay/hay brand change, I would recommend a vet a check for your own peace of mind.

Placing a bowl of steaming water close to the cage by the denning area can tell you whether moisturising drier winter indoors air could help with any symptoms and whether they could be enhanced by it.
