Ok so I need to make a decision. I'm going on holiday for a week and my sister was originally going to come and feed/clean the guinea pigs each day...
But the flat above us had a water leak and basically our kitchen needs a new ceiling and work tops which they are going to do while we are away...
So either I keep my piggies in the lounge (next door to the kitchen) but the man said it will be very noisy and I don't want to scare them. But the only other option is to put them in my sisters spare room but they would only have space for a 2x3 maximum cage each. They are all boys. At the moment I have a pair in a 2x4 and the other pair in a DIY 140cm by 75cm.
Help?!

:D I myself would rather remove them from the noise. Plus there is likely to be a lot of dust flying around too, which could be nasty for the pigs. It should not be too bad for them as it is only for one week.

I'd rather put them in the smaller cage temporarily than have them close to the noise :)

Ok thanks everyone! Just going to be a pilavar to get them all to my sisters haha oh well. I'm going over at the weekend to measure out the cage to make sure it'll fit :)

Is your sister able to let the piggies out for a run to exercise at all? If so, then given that it's only a week, then the smaller cage shouldn't be a problem. =)

No she won't be able to as she has 2 dogs, so she'll have to just keep them locked in the spare room. Annoying I'm not here for the building work really as then I could see how noisey and it may not have been too bad, but as I don't know what it'll be like I'm going to have to move them I think incase it's really bad! Blooming heck :p

Sorry if I'm rude here, but the boys get snappy in a 2x3?
My older 2 definitely won't as they were in a store bought cage for a while and were fine, they're 3 and have always been together. As for the other 2 i'm not sure, my youngest i've only had for a month, he's only small though and they get on really well so hopefully not!:/

Maybe it would be worth trying a 2x3 now for ten minutes? Then again, I'm not sure if they'll fight. They'd do it in the 2x3 there if they did it in your ones. I'm not sure heh.

Yeah the thing is there isn't much of a choice...it's a 2x3 or staying where they are and possible terrifying them with the noise. I'm pretty sure they won't, Barney had always accepted Rolo as the dominant one and they have never even teeth chattered, they just squeak and Rolo does the occasional rumble :)
