What’s this under Snickerdoodle’s eye?

Giving the pigs floor time earlier today, I noticed that Snickerdoodle had this little pimple like thing under her eye? She also had a tiny bit of what looked like discharge in the corner of her eye, and something brownish and crusty on her nose. All the discharge (both eye and nose) is gone now but there’s still this thing under her eye.
Her breathing is sounding a little snuffly so I’m taking her to the vet either way, but I just wanted to see if this ‘pimple’ (that’s just what it looks like to me 😅) is anything to worry about? I’ll ask the vet about it of course but I wanted to get some opinions here in the meantime.

Thanks :)

Is it discharge or a pimple?
Have you tried to wipe it away or anything, as it could be some leftover discharge.
If she is producing discharge, it is good to get her checked out by the vet.

Piggies can get “pimples”, or small cysts on them but I do not actually know the cause of this. Getting anything abnormal checked by the vet is great though.

Best of luck at the vets today x

I just got her out and was going to try to wipe it off, but it seems to be gone. A super tiny red dot is all that’s left.
I did wipe off the discharge last night and the pimple (or whatever it is) didn’t come off so I assume it wasn’t just discharge.
I won’t be able to get her into the vet until Saturday because I’m going on a trip and not coming back until tomorrow afternoon, but I’ll definitely get her in as soon as possible.

Thanks for the help. :)

Sounds like it may have been a pimple or a sebaceous cyst, even though those cysts are usually found on their rear end.
You may want to watch to see if it comes back or "refills", although it seems whatever it was may have been scratched or fallen off.

Still good to get it checked out, I would just observe her for any change in behavior.
I apologize I thought you had an appointment for today, so good luck for Saturday!, but she should be fine until then if nothing new arises.

Alright, so I’ve just picked up Snickerdoodle to trim her nails, and she wouldn’t eat the lettuce I offered. I looked at her mouth, and she has a cut on her lip (I’m almost positive it wasn’t there yesterday or early this morning.)
She ate a peaflake I offered her, and she’s eating hay now.
Could the cut on her lip be related to the pimple and the discharge? I did get her semi recently so maybe it’s just something she picked up at the rescue, but she seemed pretty healthy when I picked her up. She also seems to get poop stuck on her a LOT. There was one that was very stuck onto her arm and when I pulled it off it brought some fur off too. Just another thing for the vet to check out I guess..

Thank you for all your help @piggl

Hi

No, they are two totally unrelated issues.

Please see a vet during regular opening hours if you have any concerns or if there are any changes with the pimple.

Update on Snickerdoodle:

The vet doesn't have any available appointments until next week at the very soonest, so I haven't gotten her in yet. No eye discharge since Thursday.

However, a new problem - the cut on her lip disappeared, but I'm just now noticing that her top tooth is completely gone. It looks almost as though it broke off (or it could be that a new tooth is coming in, not sure)

I spoke to my aunt, who visited on Thursday I believe, and held Snickerdoodle and she said that Snickerdoodle did jump out of her arms and land on the hardwood floor. She started running back to the cage as soon as she hit the floor, so my aunt thought she was ok. I'm thinking perhaps this is when her tooth got knocked out?

I have noticed that she's not eating as enthusiastically as she did before, and I think she felt a little lighter when I picked her up today (not sure if I'm imagining it though). I've got Critical Care in case she stops eating or can't eat because of the tooth loss, but what else can I do? Will the tooth grow back?

Thanks :)

Please ensure you weigh her daily and do give critical care if her hay intake has been impacted and she is losing weight. She may still be eating but it doesn’t mean she is eating enough to maintain her weight.
They can struggle to pick food up if they have issues with their incisors.
Their teeth grow continuously so provided the damage is not under the gumline, then the tooth should regrow. We always recommend a vet check in these circumstances (ie after a fall to check for any injuries and also in the case of tooth damage to check it will regrow properly), I see you are struggling to get an appointment though so do mention it when you can get one.
