This is an extract from another post:

"I can't get over how different Cobweb is - when he gets cuddles he flumps right down into the crook of my arm and growls at anybody who comes close! Cobweb sometimes does this thing where he spins round in the crook of my arm exposing his belly and his enormous guinea pig spuds - a huge source of amusement for the children. I don't know if he wants me to tickle his belly or not but I've not tried it yet."

What is Cobweb doing when he does this? He sometimes really burls round - do guineas use scent marking or anything? My husband thinks it's a show of possession so that when I cuddle Pigpig all he can smell is Cobweb.

Or is Cobweb just a doughnut? :D

Ahhhh - Ive never experience this before with any of my 24 piggys 98) He could be smelling your other piggy and just making his mark but whilst he is doing this is he making any noises ? If not maybe he does just want a tickle ;) ;D

I think if they are marking out their territory by scent then they rub their bottoms on the floor/your arm/etc..I know John Anderson has done this to me not long after we got him.

I think it sounds like you should go for it and try giving his tummy a tickle if he doesn't like it you'll find out pretty quickly.
You could be depriving him of lovely tickle time :)

Oh yes i remember one of my boars have done this before - He did rub his bottom on the grass once whilst he was making a noise i think it was because i put his run where i put a different boars run before ;D

Thanks guys! ;D

It's really odd, it's not his bottom he's rubbing on me - do you know, he is acting just like a cat would :o

Which is why I'm scared to try tickling his belly!

Is his skin okay?

I think some piggies are just very dominant, and have to mark everything with their scent :)

His skin is beautiful, Cherry, he is well looked after by Gorgeous Guineas! ;D

I think he's partly just a nutter, and partly possessive of me. I've noticed he gets rather annoyed if I pick Pigpig up for cuddles first. ::)

Personally I would put thick gloves on and THEN tickle his tummy-you've got to be careful :)

i was reading this and couldnt help laughing at "his enormous guinea pig spuds" my partner is thinking I'm totally nuts until i told him what I'm laughing at! My treacle has very tiny nuts, he hardly looks like a boy at all! My truffle gets very grumpy if treacle is getting a hug, so he just decides to launch himself on me and on top of treacle! ::)

LOL! Aren't pigs funny little critters? Cobweb didn't have anything to look at 'down there' for months, then suddenly these 'things' were there, and they are just huge! I mean, the 'body to spuds ratio' just seems completely wrong to me! :D
