I am quite confused! I am wondering if Meg is in season because shes chasing Maggie round then humping her face! Or is she trying to be the dominant sow?? any suggestions would be greatfully recieved.....:{

She never acts like that! Poor Maggie is getting run ragged! but I'm sure, knowing Maggie when shes had enough she'll put Meg in her place! I'm pretty sure she could be in season because the boys have been a bit off with eachother today too, so i had to move the girls away from them! They then settled.

Looks like a girl in season to me - when the mounting is so indiscriminate, it's usually down to a very strong surge of hormones. Thankfully, it should be over within a day or two!

But I agree that it's a pretty shocking sight when you see it for the first time! The good news is that both sows will reaffirm their bond when all is over by lots of cuddling.

Delilah has to put up with this every couple of weeks as Flumpet seems to suffer quite badly with her hormones. She gets visible upset and sometimes cries. I think she just doesn't know what to do with herself. She does a lot of rubblestrutting and mounting. Luckily Delilah is very laid back because it lasts 24-48 hours. The following day they are closer than they would be usually with lots of grooming. It freaked me out the first few times and even now I tend to leave them be and not handle them too much as I figure they're under enough stress as it is.

:)

Thanks everyone feel better now! Atleast I know its not my girly pigs having a proper falling out!
