hey,
my friend has a little girl and boy guinea pig and shes mating them in a couple of weeks, when shes ready. She is giving me one free and i dont mind what sex. But the only problem is i already have a boy and a girl guinea and they're in together. Mine boy is neutered and my girl isnt spayed. Which sex little baby guinea would be the best to go in with my two? x

a girl would be best if you get another boy you will need to get him spayed and then he will need to be on his own for 6 weeks

This is a rescue friendly forum and we don't really like breeding with their being so many piggies in rescues trying to find homes.

So I wouldn't advise your friend lets them mate to be honest and you could find a gorgeous female pig friend for yours in a rescue. =D

You should really get a female piggy because a male piggy is sexually active from 3 weeks, so you girl would end up pregnant.
Another reason it would have to female is that the boys would fight over the female and could hurt each other very very baldy or even fatally injure each other. :(

FYI, spaying refers to neutering a female animal. :)

However, I'd tell your friend about all the pigs in rescue across the country before she goes breeding them. I agree with Rawr, get a female piggy from a rescue instead as there will be too much competition for the female with two boars. I assume your friend knows about all the risks associated with breeding? If not, I'd direct her to www.cavyspirit.com

Opt to adopt!

yep i agree this sounds very irresponsible when so many are waiting for correct homes and in some cases with the bigger multi animal shelters getting pts due to lack of room:(
A baby boy is a mistake, two boys desexed or not cannot live with a girl,if you get a girl you will be fine but i strongly suggest you do the right thing and discourage your friend from breeding and adopt a rescue piggy instead,
Besides with "just" breeding like this your future piggy could have various health/behaviour issues.
The sow could also die as piggy pergnancy is very hard on there little bodies!
all of that says to me that its not worth it,maybe tell your friend that for every baby born another piggy sits longer waiting for there home or is pts.
